STORY
The Socaleiras group emerged from the initiative of businessman Orlando Oliveira, who at the age of 18 was already operating in companies in the civil construction sector, after having worked in them in previous years to finance his studies.
The professional experience accumulated in the field, combined with a strong entrepreneurial spirit, allowed him, in 1996, to see a clear opportunity, which led him to create his first company in the sector, which immediately stood out in the fields of innovation, not only in terms of products, but also in terms of working methods, which quickly allowed it to gain a prominent place in the market.
Socaleiras competitive advantages were based on its specialized workforce, product quality and production flexibility, aspects that contributed to a period of positive evolution and consequent industrial and commercial consolidation.
Attentive to the evolution of the market and possessing a high ability to detect opportunities in terms of the needs and desires of the sector, Orlando Oliveira envisioned an unmistakable business opportunity in the fact that there is no effective production in Portugal and diversity of these systems, their respective components and accessories, with only 3 standard models available for customers, with no flexibility or adaptation to the work.
Keeping his entrepreneurial spirit intact, Orlando Oliveira has now decided to expand the group's production, founding in 2021 another group company equipped with the most modern precision laser cutting technology.
The Mindorbit project is an investment, financed in part by the Portuguese State and the European Union, which certifies its quality, and has its modern factory, in the central area of the country – Tomar. The project was based on the creation of a new establishment that will produce the aforementioned materials that cover a flexible and personalized range of components and accessories, favouring the incorporation of new materials and aspects such as design, finish, image and functionalities.
Now, the SOCALEIRAS group is in a phase of expansion and vertical integration, focusing on the production of specific or sophisticated metal parts for cars, aircraft, machinery and equipment, precision instruments, design and architecture, among other applications.
At its factory in Tomar, it develops the following techniques:
• Components and accessories for eaves gutters
• Fibre laser cutting system, up to a thickness of 20mm. Work area 3000 x 1500mm
• Bending of precision metal parts
• Metal forming by pressing / stamping
• Longitudinal cutting of sheet metal coils up to 2mm thick
• Molds, dies and cutters
